Site Design, Hardscape Layout, Planting and Irrigation Design
David Conner + Associates, under contract with the University of Florida, collaborated with the project architect to design the site surrounding this new multi-purpose classroom building. The building, which houses the offices of retired Senator Bob Graham, is designed to bring people of all races and nationalities together to discuss the challenges of the world and to inspire students to government service. The Center includes lecture halls and offices along with a variety of gathering spaces in and around the building. David Conner worked with Senator Graham to integrate Florida’s natural landscape as part of the building perimeter. This integration included the use of native plants surrounding the building, exposed shell walkways and plant impressions in the paving of outdoor courtyards.
