Tampa, FL, 7/29/14 – David Conner + Associates is proud to announce Walter “Tony” Monk has joined the team as a Landscape Architect and Project Manager. Tony is a licensed landscape architect in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan. Tony’s work includes projects throughout the United States and the Caribbean. He holds a LEED certification and is a member of the ASLA and a board member of Kiwanis. His broad experience includes planning in commercial development for multifamily, residential, and high end retail; as well as public works such as higher education, parks, and streets. Tony received his Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University. He is proud to be a new resident of Tampa Bay and enjoys boating with his wife and fishing in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico.

David Conner + Associates is pleased to announce our selection with the HOK Architectural Team as Landscape Architect for the East County Service Center, Plant City, Florida. The design of the site improvements are intended to provide a high quality public urban environment in downtown Plant City. The improvements will complete the construction of the four block county courts and public services facility.

The City of Tarpon Springs asked David Conner + Associates to renovate a section of the Pinellas Trail and design a fitness park for the nearby community. Located on Safford Avenue between downtown Tarpon Springs and Live Oak Boulevard, the North Safford Avenue Recreation Corridor is a safe place for walking, jogging, skating, and biking.
The park includes outdoor fitness equipment, a group exercise lawn, walking trails, and a play area. The Pinellas Trail and streetscape renovations include new sidewalks and landscape enhancements improving walkability throughout the community.

David Conner + Associates (DCA) is proud to announce that the Wilmot Healing Gardens at the University of Florida has won the Award of Merit from the Florida Chapter of the America Society of Landscape Architects. Wilmot Garden’s story is the preservation of an historic garden on the UF campus and its transformation from neglect into a place for healing. Since 2007, David Conner + Associates has assisted UF with the transformation. In 2012, DCA provided services leading to a benefactor who funded the creation of a recently completed Greenhouse facility on the garden site. This greenhouse is now home to the new UF Therapeutic Horticulture curriculum. DCA is currently working on The J W Reitz Student Union Expansion project, the Harrell Medical Education Building, Heavener Hall, Cypress Hall Single Student Housing, and the PK Yonge Middle and High School at the University of Florida.

David Conner + Associates (DCA) has been selected by the University of Florida as landscape architect for the Annual Minor Projects Continuing Services Contract. This contract with the University of Florida will build upon DCA’s large portfolio of higher education planning and landscape architectural projects. DCA has completed over 20 projects on the UF campus, including 12 LEED certifications. DCA is currently working on The J W Reitz Student Union Expansion project, the Harrell Medical Education Building, Heavener Hall, Cypress Hall Single Student Housing, and the PK Yonge Middle and High School at the University of Florida.
